Artisan de la Truffe – a famous restaurant specializing in truffle dishes, marking the first foray into Qatar for the brand and bringing with them the same passion with French truffles as the main Parisian location. Currently, there are four restaurants in Paris alongside other international destinations in Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and each one showcases the best truffles the market has to offer.
Truffle lovers in Qatar now can taste the Artisan de la Truffe’s classic dishes in its beautiful and warm space, with more than 90 seats. Ideal to spend delicious truffled moments where Truffle shines in all the dishes in a simple but elegant way.
Visiting the restaurant on a fine afternoon, I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and shown to a fabulous table situated in their stunning restaurant. A pleasing dining experience begins from the moment I enter the restaurant. Before talking about their delicious food, let me explain to you first why truffles are valued by the modern chef and what health benefits they can provide us!
Truffle is basically one kind of mushroom that grows under the soil. It is the most expensive mushroom in the world and is considered as the kitchen gem. European white truffles can sell up to $3,600 a pound. For a few reasons, truffles are costly. First, they are wild and not something that can easily be cultivated, farmed or processed – they are picky about where they grow. They have numerous health benefits, they are high in many significant vitamins and minerals and also have an impressive nutrient profile. Research also shows that truffles are a complete source of protein and contain all nine amino acids that are important for your body.
Artisan de la Truffe features a sumptuous contemporary menu. There’s a wide range of ingredients, flavors, and dishes to experiment with. I sample some dishes like Berry freezer, Burrata, Lartisan salad, Lartisan beef burger, Risotto rice, and white pizzetta. The Berry Freezer – a combination of Raspberry, cream and hazelnut syrup offers a delightful way to enjoy healthy fruits.
And the Soft-boiled egg brings back memories of breakfast. The Organic soft-boiled egg with a truffle and potato foam, shiitake, carrots, salad mix, truffle shavings provides a whole new experience to enjoy an egg – it’s so creamy and delicate that one plate simply won’t be enough!
I also love the white pizzetta, in fact, I would say it was one of the best pizzas I have ever tried. It comes with ricotta cheese, truffle and mushrooms sauce, mozzarella di Bufala, rocket salad, truffle shavings – a combination of all these ingredients offers you a perfect treat to your test buds.
Every dish comes with truffle as its earthy, as well as aromatic taste, goes well with almost everything.
From the desserts, I try raspberry cheesecake – the rich, dense cheesecake filled and topped with fresh raspberries fulfills my gastronomic journey.
While at the restaurant, you have the opportunity to purchase some of Artisan de la Truffe Paris products including extra virgin oil (with both black and white truffle), salt from Guérande, carpaccio, chocolate, buttercream and tomato sauce, all unsurprisingly with truffle. You will the retail section as soon as you enter the restaurant.
In conclusion, I am totally satisfied with the whole experience! The plates they served were excellent, delicious flavors, balanced and some unprecedented. Every dish that came out of the kitchen was prepared with passion and love. Usually, the course menus containing truffle are normally above the market price; however, compared to other truffle establishments certainly, what Artisan de la Truffe Paris offers are affordable. For those whose priority is healthy and delicious food in a lovely atmosphere, this is definitely a recommended place.
